Job summary

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is seeking a substantive consultant in palliative medicine to provide specialist inpatient and outpatient care across two hospital sites, including leading undergraduate teaching at Keele University. The role involves 10 palliative beds, on-call duties, and a category B supplement.

• MRCP membership is required.
• Evidence of training in research methodology.

Responsibilities

• Work as a core member of the Hospital Palliative Care Team across both hospital sites.
• Provide specialist palliative advice, outpatient services and inpatient care for 10 palliative medicine beds.
• Help expand specialist palliative care services alongside four consultants.
• Work closely with local hospices and community services.
• Lead undergraduate palliative care education at Keele University School of Medicine.
• Contribute to developing and delivering the palliative care curriculum.
• Carry out on-call duties with a category B availability supplement.
