Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust invites a consultant to join its specialist palliative care service. You will provide inpatient/outpatient care, lead community palliation, and contribute to teaching and governance across hospital, hospice and home settings.

The role includes on-call duties, leadership of MDTs, and collaboration with GPs and community services. Requires GMC registration and a CCT or eligibility within six months of interview.

Qualifications

• MRCP/MRCGP/FRCR/FRCA or equivalent required.
• CCT or GMC Specialist Register in Palliative Medicine at appointment, or within six months at interview.
• Full GMC registration required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to patients in the specialist palliative care service (inpatients and outpatients).
• Lead specialist palliative care in the community around Hinchingbrooke Hospital.
• Provide clinical leadership in specialist palliative and end of life care across the Trust.
• Lead MDT meetings and attend cancer/non-cancer MDMs.
• Liaise with GPs and other health care agencies; participate in on-call rota.
