Job summary

Historic Royal Palaces is seeking a Security Officer to join the Tower of London Security Team on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027. You will ensure a safe and secure environment for visitors, staff and guests, with duties ranging from access control to support for evening events.

The role requires substantial security experience and an essential SIA Level 2 SG qualification, along with high standards, punctuality, and excellent customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven security experience at a complex site.
• SIA Level 2 SG qualification is essential.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Control pedestrian and vehicle access to the Tower, including key control.
• Conduct regular patrols and maintain a vigilant presence.
• Respond to alarms and security incidents.
• Provide security for evening events and liaise with Police/Emergency Services as required.
• Meet and greet visitors and manage the reception desk.
• Bag searches and ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors.
