Job summary

North Bay Group in Newcastle is seeking a two-person decorating team to carry out internal painting and decorating works in occupied care homes. You will join three teams of two operatives, with a permanent, full-time contract and a 40-hour week Monday to Friday.

A company vehicle is provided and all materials are supplied. Essential requirements include a minimum of 2 years' painting and decorating experience, Enhanced DBS, a full UK driving licence, and a willingness to travel and stay away if

Responsibilities

• Paint and decorate internal areas in occupied care homes.
• Prepare surfaces by sanding, filling and caulking.
• Apply paints, primers, wallpaper and coatings to walls, ceilings and surfaces.
• Protect furniture, fixtures and flooring before works begin.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and professionalism on site.
• Manage materials and report additional requirements to the Estates Manager.
• Work to agreed programmes and timescales.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures at all times.
• Deliver customer service around residents and staff.

Join a Growing Property Maintenance Team

We are recruiting three decorating teams of two operatives, carrying out planned refurbishment and decoration works across our portfolio of care homes across the North of England.

What You'll Be Doing

• Working as part of a two-person decorating team, you will be responsible for:
• Internal painting and decorating works within occupied care home environments.
• Surface preparation including sanding, filling, caulking, and repairing minor defects.
• Applying paints, primers, hanging wall paper and specialist coatings to walls, ceilings, woodwork and other surfaces.
• Protecting furniture, fixtures and flooring before works commence.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and professionalism on site.
• Managing materials and reporting additional requirements to the Estates Manager.
• Working efficiently to agreed programmes and project timescales.
• Ensuring all Health & Safety procedures are always followed.
• Delivering excellent standards of customer service when working around residents and care staff.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Enhanced DBS check.
• Minimum 2 Years' Experience As a Painter & Decorator.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Strong preparation and finishing skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Good communication skills and professional attitude.
• Willingness to travel throughout the region and stay away occasionally if required.

Desirable:

• Experience working in care homes, healthcare, hotels or occupied environments.
• Basic understanding of health and safety requirements.
