A leading engineering company is seeking a Painter & Decorator for on-site work at HMP Morton Hall. This role offers a flexible 39-hour week with opportunities for additional earnings through overtime and a supportive team environment. Candidates should have NVQ qualifications in Painting & Decorating and a good understanding of health and safety practices.

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Painter & Decorator in HMP Morton Hall .
This role offers flexibility with a 39-hour week across 7 days, including a 1-in-3 weekend shift pattern - plus a 15% shift allowance on your basic salary. You may also be part of an on-call rota, with a generous standby allowance and optional overtime is available to help you boost your earnings.
Prefer more of a work-life balance? We also offer a Monday to Friday only shift.

This isn't your typical prison environment - the site features open areas and a more spacious layout, with just five accommodation blocks to maintain, making it a more manageable and less confined setting.
The Painter/Decorator plays an important part in ensuring the planned and reactive maintenance work within the prisons is carried out in a safe, compliant and timely manner.
The team of 20 is supportive and diverse with excellent work ethic. Typically the work is completed independently alongside one other on-site Electrician, with the option to buddy up for health and safety when needed.
What you will do:
• Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
• Responsibility for the care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
• Compliance with relevant company Health & Safety Policy, instructions and directive.
• This role will also support both local and business zero carbon programmes, working towards zero carbon in a strategic and lean manner as and where it is appropriate.
• Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are achieved across the contract.
What you will bring:
• Qualified to NVQ 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating
• Previous relevant work related experience.
• Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
• Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
