Job summary

Core Group is seeking experienced Painters & Decorators to join a Southend-on-Sea construction project. The role involves preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and delivering a high-quality finish on both internal and external areas.

Typical hours are Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30 with 8 hours paid. The contract runs for 6 weeks, rate £21.50-£22.50 per hour, and CSCS is required. Own tools may be needed, and references must be provided, with adherence to site health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• CSCS Card is required.
• 2 checkable references available.
• Previous painting and decorating experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality finish.
• Own tools where required on site.
• Strong health and safety awareness on construction sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare walls, ceilings and surfaces.
• Fill, sand and repair surfaces.
• Apply emulsion, gloss and other coatings.
• Undercoat and prime surfaces.
• Cut in and achieve clean edges.
• Paint internal and external areas as required.
• Complete touch-ups and snagging.
• Work from specifications and instructions.
• Keep work areas clean and tidy.

• Preparing walls, ceilings and other surfaces
• Filling, sanding and repairing surfaces
• Applying emulsion, gloss and other coatings
• Undercoating and priming surfaces
• Cutting in and achieving clean edges
• Painting internal and external areas where required
• Completing touch-ups and snagging works
• Working from specifications and instructions
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card
• Previous painting/decorating experience
• Good attention to detail
• Able to produce a high-quality finish
• Own tools where required
• 2 checkable references
• Good understanding of site health & safety
