Job summary

Core Group is seeking a Painter & Decorator for a temporary contract in Northampton. The role covers preparing walls, applying coatings and achieving a high-quality finish on internal and external areas as specified. CSCS card is required and tools may be provided by you where noted.

Hours are typically Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30, with a total of 11–12 weeks duration. Start date is 19/10/2026 and duties include site safety and maintaining a tidy workspace.

Qualifications

• Must have valid CSCS card.
• Previous painting/decorating experience.
• Good attention to detail and ability to deliver a high-quality finish.
• Knowledge of health & safety on site.
• Own tools may be required where noted.

Responsibilities

• Prepare walls, ceilings and surfaces.
• Fill, sand and repair surfaces.
• Apply emulsion, gloss and other coatings.
• Prime and undercoat surfaces.
• Cut in and achieve clean edges.

Location: Northampton NN4

Rate: £21-£22ph

Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:00-16:30 / 8 hours paid

Duration: 11-12 Weeks.

CSCS: Required

Start Date: 19/10/2026

Duties include:

• Preparing walls, ceilings and other surfaces
• Filling, sanding and repairing surfaces
• Applying emulsion, gloss and other coatings
• Undercoating and priming surfaces
• Cutting in and achieving clean edges
• Painting internal and external areas where required
• Completing touch-ups and snagging works
• Working from specifications and instructions
• Keeping work areas clean and tidy

Requirements:

• Valid CSCS Card
• Previous painting/decorating experience
• Good attention to detail
• Able to produce a high-quality finish
• Own tools where required
• 2 checkable references
• Good understanding of site health & safety
