Job summary

ITS Building People are seeking an experienced Painter/Decorator for a residential project in Horsham, West Sussex. Start date: 21/09/2026. Own transport preferred. The role is temporary, Monday to Friday, with possible overtime.

Responsibilities include surface preparation, painting, wallpapering, snagging and touch-ups, and advising clients on colour schemes. You must have a CSCS card and bring your own tools; PPE is required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a decorator on building projects.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Bring Your Own Tools.
• Ability to perform physical manual labour if required.
• Own tools required; high‑vis jacket, gloves, and hard hat recommended/available from ITS Building People for a fee.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and treat surfaces by cleaning, sanding and filling before finishing.
• Apply paint, wallpaper and decorative finishes to interior and exterior surfaces.
• Carry out snagging and touch‑up works.
• Protect surrounding areas with coverings and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Advise clients on colour schemes, materials and decoration techniques.

Job Description

ITS Building people are looking for an experienced Painter/ Decorator to assist our client with a residential project in Horsham, West Sussex. Own transport would be Preferred.

This contract will be Monday to Friday and there may be an option to work overtime

Daily responsibilities will include:

• Prepare & treat surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling before applying finishes
• Apply paint, wallpaper, & decorative finishes to interior & exterior surfaces
• Carrying out snagging & touch-up works
• Protect surrounding areas with coverings and ensure a clean, safe workspace
• Advise clients on colour schemes, materials, & decoration techniques

Requirements for the role

• Experience Decorator
• Valid CSCS Card
• Bring Your Own Tools
• The ability to perform physical manual labour if required
• You should have your own high vis jacket or vest, gloves and hard hat. These can be provided by ITS Building People for a small fee.
• Own tools required

Rates of Pay:

Where a range of rate of pay is quoted the level of experience, qualifications & related training required is the minimum required in order to qualify for the lowest rate of pay quoted.
