Job summary

Manpower is seeking a skilled Painter/Decorator to deliver high-quality finishes across domestic and commercial properties. You will prepare surfaces, apply paints and wallpapers, protect surroundings, and maintain a clean, safe site while meeting deadlines.

The role requires attention to detail, time management, and clear communication with customers. A City & Guilds in Painting & Decorating or CSCS card is advantageous; a full UK driving licence is beneficial for travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Painter/Decorator with a high finish quality.
• Knowledge of painting techniques and surface preparation methods.
• Ability to work neatly and manage time on site.
• Wallpaper hanging and/or decorative finishing is desirable.
• CSCS card preferred for site-based work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting and decorating, including cleaning, sanding, filling, and scraping as required.
• Apply paint, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to a high standard.
• Protect floors, furniture, and fixtures to prevent damage during works.
• Carry out minor repairs and touch-ups to ensure a consistent, professional finish.
• Work to specifications and follow site instructions to meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area throughout each job.
• Use tools and equipment correctly, ensuring they are kept in good condition.
• Communicate clearly with customers and colleagues to ensure expectations are met.

• Experience with wallpaper hanging and/or decorative finishing is desirable.


• Sound understanding of health and safety practices on construction and domestic sites.


• Good communication skills and a professional approach when working around customers.


• Full UK driving licence is beneficial (where travel between sites is required).


• Relevant qualifications (such as City & Guilds in Painting and Decorating) are advantageous.


• CSCS card (or willingness to obtain) is preferred for site-based work.
