Dovehaven are currently recruiting for a Painter & Decoreator to work accros eleven of our care homes in the Accrington, Leyland, Preston, Oldham, Wigan & Warrington areas. Working Monday- Friday 8.30am- 4.30pm, 40hr contract.

At Dovehaven, we are a family run care group providing quality residential and nursing care for the elderly. We have been providing quality care for our residents for over 30 years and pride ourselves on the happy, welcoming atmosphere in all of our homes. Dovehaven provide a full range of care for residential and nursing needs, for both long term and respite periods.

About The Role

All aspects of painting/decorating and general handy man experience. You will be responsible for maintaining the appearance and decoration of the homes. Owning your own vehicle is essential as you will be required to cover all the areas listed. Any mileage incurred can be claimed back as part of expenses. The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check which will be paid for by Dovehaven.

About You

Our ideal Maintenance Person will have the following:

• Full clean driving licence
• Essential Experience of DIY and decorating
• Caring nature
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually
• Flexibility and be able to adapt to the needs of Residents
• A Health & Safety or Maintenance qualification is desirable
• Previous experience within a Care or Nursing Home setting or similar
  
  

flexible approach and be able to respond quickly to requests for assistance from the surrounding homes. You will have a good knowledge of health and safety legislation applicable to your role and will ensure it is adhered to.

We are looking for someone with empathy as you will often be working around the residents in our homes and they can be living with dementia and sometimes have behaviours that are challenging. The successful candidate will have a can do attitude, be able to manage their time effectively and understanding of the ethos of the group that residents come first.
