Job summary

Clarence House Day Nurseries is seeking a Painter and Decorator to carry out redecoration across nursery sites. You will travel between sites, following schedules set by the Operations Manager and maintaining high decoration standards.

Role involves 40 hours per week with potential flexi hours, including evenings and weekends. Requires a full UK driving licence and an Enhanced DBS check; experience in occupied nurseries is a plus.

Job description

We're looking for a Painter and Decorator to carry out redecoration works across our nursery settings, working under the direction of our Operations Manager. Work includes scheduled redecoration (roughly every two years per setting), newly acquired nurseries, and other jobs as they arise.

You'll be travelling across all our sites, so a full UK driving licence is essential.

You will be working 40 hours a week; this can include flexi hours over weekends and evenings.

Your rate of pay will be £17/ hour.

What you'll be doing:

• Preparing surfaces (filling, sanding, cleaning, priming) and applying paint and decorative finishes to a high standard;
• Protecting furniture, fixtures and work areas during jobs;
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe throughout;
• Following schedules set by the Operations Manager and flagging any further works needed;
• Working flexibly, including evenings and weekends where needed, to minimise disruption to nurseries;
• Working safely around children and staff at all times.
• 1-2 years' experience as a Painter and Decorator or similar;
• - Good practical knowledge of decorating techniques and surface preparation;
• - Ability to work independently, to a high standard and to deadlines;
• - Full UK driving licence;
• - Experience working within occupied buildings is an advantage.

As this role involves working in a nursery setting, it is therefore subject to an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check. Any offer of employment will be conditional on receipt of a satisfactory check. The cost of this check will be covered by us.
