Langstane Housing Association Ltd is seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) team. You will deliver internal and external painting and decorating works across residential properties, ensuring high-quality finishes, proper surface preparation, and adherence to safety standards.
You will plan workloads, conduct pre-inspections, maintain tools and stock, and work to agreed timescales.
The postholder is responsible for contributing to a multi-disciplinary property team, delivering high-quality repairs, maintenance, and aids and adaptations services in line with the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) cost and quality standards. The role ensures full compliance with health and safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and industry best practice.

The postholder undertakes a wide range of internal and external painting and decorating works, from single-element treatments to the full refurbishment of residential properties. This includes preparing work areas and surfaces to a high standard, including filling small to medium-sized holes, making good defects, and ensuring surfaces are suitably prepared for decoration.
The role is accountable for delivering consistently high standards of finish across new installations, responsive maintenance, and planned remedial works, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to a high level of customer satisfaction.

Good pre-paint preparation experience
Experience covering a wide variety of internal and external painting works associated with cyclical works and refurbishment of void and occupied properties
Competent user of IT including Microsoft Outlook (emails)
Experience of Reactive Maintenance
Proven track record of solving problems and implementing solutions
Experience working at heights from ladders and Scaffold
Working knowledge of the application of Health and Safety legislation
Track record of effectively working to deadlines
Knowledge of materials, techniques and practices for all activities commensurate with the post
