Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a time-served painter to join our facilities management team. The role covers internal/external painting of building fabrics, surface preparation, and safe use of access equipment. You will work Monday–Friday, 7am–3:30pm, in occupied properties and with maintenance teams to minimize disruption.

Essentials include IPAF for working at height, strong health & safety awareness, and the ability to manage time independently. NVQ2 in Painting & Decorating is desirable.

Qualifications

• Time-served painter with proven industrial/commercial experience.
• IPAF certification is essential for working at height.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong health and safety awareness and practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• NVQ Level 2 Painting & Decorating (desirable).
• Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.
• Experience working in occupied properties and managing customer expectations.
• Familiar with COSHH and safe handling of materials.

About The Role:

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday 7am - 3.30pm

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform internal and external painting of building fabrics including walls, ceilings, doors, and structural elements.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming as required.
• Operate access equipment safely and efficiently (IPAF certification required).
• Conduct routine inspections and touch-ups to maintain site standards.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize disruption.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
• Adhere to site hygiene, safety, and environmental policies.

Requirements:

• Time-served painter with proven experience in industrial or commercial environments.
• IPAF certification – essential for working at height.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Painting & Decorating (desirable).
