Job summary

Niyaa People Ltd is seeking an experienced Painter on a self-employed basis for Stoke-on-Trent, delivering painting and decorating across council properties under a city contract. You will work as a subcontractor with your own van and tools, and start immediately.

Role focuses on internal works, surface preparation, and finishing to a high standard, with long-term subcontracting opportunities and consistent local work.

Qualifications

• Experience in painting and decorating, ideally within social housing.
• Blue CSCS Card required (essential).
• Own van and painting tools.
• Manual Handling, Asbestos Awareness and Working at Heights certs beneficial.

Enjoy a long-term, self-employed opportunity earning £170 per day, working for an established contractor delivering works on the Stoke-on-Trent City Council contract. This Painter role offers consistent work, competitive pay and an immediate start.

You’ll be working for a reputable contractor in the Stoke-on-Trent area, carrying out painting and decorating works across council properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Painter looking for ongoing subcontracting work with a reliable contractor.

I would love to see applications from anyone who has worked as a Painter, Painter and Decorator, Maintenance Decorator or in a similar property maintenance role.

As a Painter you will be:

• Carrying out internal painting and decorating across council properties
• Preparing walls, ceilings and woodwork before painting
• Applying paint finishes to a high standard
• Completing minor filling, sanding and making good
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and professionally

• Previous painting and decorating experience, ideally within social housing
• A valid Blue CSCS Card (essential)
• Their own van and painting tools

Location & travel

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, the role involves travelling between properties across the council contract. The area offers excellent road links via the A500, A50 and M6, making it accessible from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stafford, Crewe and surrounding areas. You will need your own van and tools to carry out the work.
