Niyaa People is seeking a professional Painter for a long-term, self-employed subcontracting role in Stoke‑on‑Trent. You will paint and decorate council properties, prepare surfaces, and ensure finishes meet high standards across multiple sites.

Immediate start and reliable ongoing work on a council contract are offered. You must have a Blue CSCS Card, your own van and tools, and relevant safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Previous painting and decorating experience, ideally within social housing.
• Blue CSCS Card (essential).
• Own van and painting tools.
• Manual Handling certification.
• Asbestos Awareness certification.
• Working at Heights certification.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out internal painting and decorating across council properties.
• Preparing walls, ceilings and woodwork before painting.
• Applying paint finishes to a high standard.
• Completing minor filling, sanding and making good.
• Ensuring all work is completed efficiently and professionally.

You’ll be working for a reputable contractor in the Stoke-on-Trent area, carrying out painting and decorating works across council properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Painter looking for ongoing subcontracting work with a reliable contractor.

As a Painter you will be:

• Carrying out internal painting and decorating across council properties
• Preparing walls, ceilings and woodwork before painting

Location & travel

Based in Stoke-on-Trent, the role involves travelling between properties across the council contract. The area offers excellent road links via the A500, A50 and M6, making it accessible from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stafford, Crewe and surrounding areas. You will need your own van and tools to carry out the work.
