Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a skilled Painter to join our team in Bath on a temporary basis. You will prepare surfaces, apply paint and coatings, and ensure a high-quality finish across residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

Ideal candidates have prior painting or decorating experience, knowledge of techniques and equipment, and the ability to work at heights. Health and safety compliance and attention to detail are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Painter or Decorator.
• CSCS card preferred.
• Ability to work at heights with ladders/scaffolding.
• Good attention to detail and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, filling holes, and removing old paint.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Mix and match paint colours according to specifications.
• Protect surrounding areas with drop cloths, masking tape, and other materials.
• Repair and maintain painted surfaces when required.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Follow health and safety regulations at all times.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, clients, and team members.
