Job summary
Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse for Paediatrics at Band 6 on a fixed-term 6-month contract. The role supports safe, child-friendly care, working with a multi-disciplinary team to lead nursing staff and ensure high standards of care from admission to discharge.
The post involves professional, clinical and managerial leadership, resource management, and adherence to the NMC Code.
Qualifications
- Registered NMC qualification for Child Nursing.
- Educated to postgraduate level/ diploma in nursing or related field or equivalent experience.
- To be a registered practice assessor (SLIPS/ENB998).
- To provide knowledge and / or evidence of preceptorship experience.
- Senior staff nurse – considerable post registration experience in Paediatrics.
- EPALS Qualification.
- Evidence of post registration education.
- Previous Band 6 experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead and co-ordinate a dedicated team of nursing and support staff on the ward.
- Provide professional, clinical and managerial leadership to nursing staff.
- Contribute to managing nursing and material resources in a cost-effective way.
- Adhere to NMC Code and ensure ward compliance with hospital policies.
