Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Sister for the Northbrook Acute Children's Ward at the Winchester site. You will provide leadership and high-quality paediatric care, supervising Band 5 nurses and Band 3 HCAs while driving ward safety and service development.

You will lead on clinical links, mentor junior staff, and help evolve patient care in a busy, family-centered environment. Flexible working requests will be considered.

Qualifications

• Professional UK registration (NMC/CHDip/RSC) is required.
• Experience in mentorship and project management is preferred.
• CPD evidence and knowledge of Health Environment policies are expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day delivery of high-quality care for children and young people on the ward.
• Line manage Band 5 nurses and Band 3 health care support workers.
• Oversee ward setup, safety, and clinical link roles across the unit.
• Support career development and leadership growth within the team.
