Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is seeking a Paediatric Ward Clerk to join Ward 8 and the Paediatric Assessment Unit at Royal Preston Hospital. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, families and visitors, delivering a friendly, professional front‑of‑house service.

The role is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a salary of £25,272 per annum. You will support clinical teams with clerical tasks, manage patient information and help maintain smooth ward flow.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy skills.
• GCSE Maths and English C or above or equivalent.
• Previous experience of working with the public.
• Aware of the concept and application of confidentiality.
• Previous experience of working in a health care or related setting.
• Understanding and awareness of Quadramed system.

Responsabilités

• Greeting and supporting children, young people and their families on arrival.
• Providing a helpful and professional front‑of‑house service.
• Managing patient information and ensuring accurate data entry.
• Supporting clinical teams with essential clerical tasks.
• Organising records, results and documentation.
• Booking follow‑up appointments and assisting with daily ward flow.
