Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board in Wales is seeking Registered Children's Nurses for the acute Paediatric Wards and Children's Outpatient Department at Prince Charles Hospital. You will join a supportive team and deliver high-quality care to children and families.

The role requires strong communication, flexibility, and leadership to cover shifts, participate in MDT planning, ensure treatment is carried out, and contribute to safety and audit. Informal visits possible.

Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Children's Nurse.
• Excellent communication skills and a team player.
• Willingness to provide holistic care to children and families.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the ward, for a span of duty, on a shift by shift basis in the absence of the ward manager/deputy sister.
• Provide high standards of holistic care to the child and family in a variety of settings.
• Be an effective team leader and role model to new/less experienced staff and others.
• Work as a flexible member of the ward team in support of the senior members of the team.
• Assess plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in conjunction with the multi disciplinary team.
• Ensure that treatment prescribed by the medical staff is carried out, and that multi-disciplinary team members are informed of changes in the patients’ treatment and condition.
• Assist in the safety of the ward environment, actively participating in clinical audit, clinical risk and quality issues including reporting and incidents.
