Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board seeks a middle grade doctor to join the Paediatric service at Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr Tydfil. The role covers general paediatrics and neonatal care (above 32 weeks gestation) with 1:9 rota and opportunities for postgraduate qualifications.

English and/or Welsh speakers are welcome. The post is fixed-term for 12 months to cover maternity leave, with supervision from consultants and exposure to teaching, audits, and research within the children’s

Qualifications

Postgraduate qualifications opportunities including a postgraduate certificate in medical education; MSC/Fellowships in paediatric specialties.

Responsibilities

Conduct daily ward rounds in the Children's Ward and Neonatal Unit.
Provide supervision to the junior medical team and support to nursing staff.
See patients in Emergency Department when required.
Carry out safeguarding medical examinations when trained.
Attend specialist clinics and see general paediatric patients with supervision.
Participate in clinical audits, teaching and research within the children’s service.
Manage acute paediatric assessments with consultant support.
