Job summary

Bolton NHS Foundation Trust’s Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Service is seeking an experienced Band 4 SLT Assistant to support children and families. You will work with Speech and Language Therapists, schools and education staff to deliver targeted interventions and help embed communication-friendly approaches in schools across Bolton.

You will assist with training workshops, monitor progress and maintain records while building strong partnerships with schools, families and partner

Qualifications

• Experience as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant or in a closely related role.
• Experience supporting children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
• Experience working collaboratively with schools and education staff.
• Confident delivering interventions and adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
• Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
• Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted speech, language and communication interventions under the direction of qualified Speech and Language Therapists.
• Support children and young people in educational and community settings.
• Build positive relationships with schools, families and partner agencies.
• Contribute to the development of resources and programmes that support communication outcomes.
• Assist with the delivery of training and workshops to school staff and other professionals.
• Monitor progress, maintain accurate records and provide feedback to therapists.
