Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a speech and language therapist to join the Early Language team supporting children with speech and language difficulties up to the end of Reception in community settings across Tower Hamlets.

You will work with a team of SLTs and bilingual co-workers, offering universal, targeted and specialist support, supervision, and in-house training, with an office based at Mile End Hospital.

Qualifications

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
• Registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Health and Care Professions Council.
• Experience with paediatric communication disorders in community or clinical settings.
• Experience working with bilingual families and diverse communities.
• Knowledge of assessment tools and interventions for developmental language and speech sound disorders.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage the under-5s caseload with autonomous practice.
• Provide clinical supervision to junior SLTs and bilingual co-workers.
• Deliver universal, targeted, and specialist support within the Early Language Team.
• Engage with parents and families in community and health settings to support development.
