Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a motivated Registered Children's Nurse to join the Musgrove Park Hospital Paediatric Outpatients team. As a Band 5 Staff Nurse, you will deliver high-quality outpatient and ambulatory care for babies, children and young people aged 0-18 with diverse acute and chronic conditions.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in nursing.
• Registered Nurse with active NMC registration.

Responsabilités

• Deliver safe, compassionate and patient-centred nursing care to children and young people attending outpatient clinics.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for patients with a variety of acute and chronic health conditions.
• Undertake a range of clinical procedures including venepuncture, cannulation, ECGs, allergy testing and HbA1c monitoring.
• Support children requiring ambulatory care, intravenous therapies, immunisations and pre-operative assessment services.
• Communicate effectively with children, young people, parents and carers, providing information appropriate to individual needs and levels of understanding.
• Record and maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with NMC and Trust standards.
• Participate in service audits, quality improvement initiatives and the implementation of best practice.
• Support the leadership, supervision, induction and development of students, new starters and junior staff members.
• Contribute to the smooth running of outpatient clinics, ensuring patient safety, effective organisation and high standards of care.

Formation

Degree or equivalent in nursing
