Job summary

Birmingham Women’s and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is inviting applications for a Band 6 Liver/ Hep bil specialist practitioner in the liver/hepatology theatre at our Birmingham Children's Hospital. The post holder will direct, advise and intervene to ensure high standards of clinical care within the theatre environment.

The role emphasises development of theatre staff, collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, and education through mentorship and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Band 6 Liver/Hep bil specialist practitioner role.
• Mentorship qualification required and ongoing professional education.
• Experience in peri-operative theatre and paediatric skills encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction, advice and intervention to maintain high clinical standards.
• Contribute to audits, assessments and reviews within agreed timeframes.
• Be the key link of communication between consultants, anaesthetists and theatre team.
• Mentor theatre practitioners and participate in training of learners.
