Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is seeking a Band 5 Staff Nurse for the Children and Young People’s Emergency Department at Nottingham Children's Hospital. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centred care and work within a multidisciplinary team in a busy environment.

The role includes paediatric emergency nursing, medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and support for students and junior colleagues, with opportunities for leadership and professional development.

Qualifications

• Current level one NMC registration/Pre-pin due to qualify.
• Possession of mentor course or willingness to complete.
• Experience of delivering nursing care to a group of patients.
• Supervision of non registered staff and students.
• Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrates basic IT skills.
• Awareness of own limitations and able to cummincate these.
• Demonstration of team working.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, safe, and compassionate care within the CYPED.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children and young people.
• Support the learning and development of student nurses and colleagues.
• Participate in triage, assessment and treatment processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to patient flow and timely care delivery.
