Job description

Are you a Registered or Student Paediatric Nurse with a passion for emergency nursing? If so, an opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Paediatric Nurses to join our supportive team in the Children & Young People's Area in the Emergency Department.

We are a separate area that sees and cares for children until the age of 16, and have a dedicated paediatric resuscitation bay. You will see and assess a range of injuries, illnesses and critically unwell children.

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated registered children's nurses to work within our team, and provide a range of training to support you in your nursing journey.

Why Join Us?
  • Fast-Paced Environment: Thrive in a dynamic setting where you can deliver safe and efficient care to children and their families.
  • Innovative and High-Performing: Be part of an Emergency Department that excels in all quality indicators, including the 4-hour performance target.
  • Dedicated Paediatric Area: Work in a separate paediatric section designed to provide a comforting and secure environment for young patients.
  • Training and Development: Take advantage of a wide range of training opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career.

If you're ready to rise to the challenge and make a difference in the lives of children and their families, we want you on our team. Join us and be part of a department that values excellence, innovation, and compassionate care.

To understand the role in more detail, please refer to the attached job description and person specification.

We are an award-winning NHS Foundation Trust working alongside health and social care colleagues across the county to provide acute and community healthcare services to more than 420,000 people across Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and Sherwood, and parts of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.

We put the patient at the heart of everything that we do and it is our aim to make sure that every patient is treated as we would want a member of our own family to be treated. At the same time, we expect our staff to be caring, kind and courteous to each other and to look out for each other. We believe that we are truly a clinically-led organisation.

We are proud that our Trust colleagues have voted us the best acute Trust to work for in the East Midlands for seven years running in the National NHS Staff Survey, while the Care Quality Commission has rated our Trust as ‘outstanding’ for care and our King’s Mill Hospital as the only ‘outstanding’ NHS-run hospital in the East Midlands.
