Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust in Basildon is seeking a Housekeeper for the Paediatric Emergency Department to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, families and staff.

You will support the ward with supplies, assist in coordinating with contractors and other departments, and help run the Polly Parrot Parents Accommodation when needed to ensure families have a comfortable stay.

Qualifications

• GCSE English or equivalent; NVQ in support services preferred.
• Good basic education required.
• Previous housekeeping experience in an acute care setting desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness within the environment.
• Order, manage and safely store ward supplies and equipment.
• Assist in running and upkeep of the Polly Parrot Parents Accommodation when required.
• Coordinate with contractors and other hospital departments to assess quality.
