Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust's Paediatric ED is seeking a Health Play Specialist on a secondment basis to join the Therapeutic and Specialised Play Service at Paeds ED, Wythenshawe Hospital. The role focuses on procedural preparation, distraction/diversional therapy and developmental play to improve patient experience.

You will work within a multi-disciplinary team and maintain thorough electronic notes.

Qualifications

• Foundation Degree in Healthcare Play Specialism or equivalent qualification.
• Up-to-date registration with Health Play Specialist Education Trust.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic play to paediatric patients to improve experience.
• Use procedural preparation, distraction/diversion, and developmental play techniques.
• Work within ward/department and accept referrals from various professionals.
• Document thoroughly in electronic patient notes and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
• Contribute to patient experience initiatives and events.
