Job summary

HealthJobs Ltd in Bronllys, Powys is seeking a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join the Paediatric Dysphagia Team on a locum basis.

The role is part-time (1 day per week) for 10 months, with base location negotiable and community-based work. You will conduct assessments, manage caseloads, provide feeding and swallowing interventions for infants and children, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Must hold HCPC registration.
• Specialist paediatric dysphagia experience required.
• Ability to work independently and manage caseload effectively.
• Experience with infants to older children and strong report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct specialist paediatric dysphagia assessments.
• Independently manage a paediatric dysphagia caseload.
• Assess and treat feeding and swallowing difficulties in children.
• Develop and implement dysphagia management plans.
• Provide recommendations to families to improve outcomes.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to each child.
• Monitor outcomes and adjust plans as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
• Maintain detailed records and reports.
• Support safe feeding pathways.
