An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and self-motivated dietitian to join a team of Paediatric dietitians providing a dietetic service throughout the Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre area. This position , offers an excellent opportunity for a dietitian looking to advance their career within a specialist field and work with 3 other Paediatric dietitians who cover areas such as diabetes, cystic fibrosis, eating disorders, home enteral feeds and feeding clinics.
We are ideally looking for somebody with at least 2 years post registration clinical dietetic experience together with some knowledge and experience of working with Paediatric dietetics. Additionally applicants should be able to demonstrate their ability to work as part of a multi disciplinary team. The successful individual will be responsible for a varied Paediatric caseload which will include covering the acute Paediatric wards, undertaking outpatient clinics both dietetic and Consultant led and covering for the Band 7 dietitians during their absence.

JOB SUMMARY:
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is ideally situated just a forty five minute drive from Manchester. The Trust provides services to the 440,000 residents of Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre and North Lancashire, as well as specialist tertiary care for Cardiac and Haematology patients.
As one of the United Kingdom’s largest coastal resort, Blackpool has plenty to offer its residents –it’s not just a good place to work; it’s a great place to live. In addition to its bustling centre and historic seafront, the town is world famous for its many attractions, including the famous Blackpool Tower. Blackpool also offers a number of scenic cycling routes round our local parks and across the surrounding countryside, as well as boasting panoramic views of the coast on its picturesque Promenade. Further afield, Blackpool also benefits from less than three-hour connections via rail to Edinburgh in the north and London in the south.
CLINICAL
To work independently (work will be self directed and autonomous) to manage and provide the dietetic service to a specialist area seeking peer support if necessary, through their clinical team or via specialist dietetic networks,
To provide dietetic advice to patients and/or carers with particular focus on the specialist condition of the patient, whilst taking into account ethical, social, emotional, psychological and cultural needs. To be able to use this complex and sensitive information in formulating individual dietetic advice in both inpatient and outpatient settings
To provide nutritional and dietetic counselling to educate a diverse patient population. To understand the complex dietary changes which are needed and to employ advanced motivational and behavioural change skills to overcome barriers to change particularly where there is non compliance

Currently the charges are - Basic DBS check £25.50, Standard DBS check £25.50 and Enhanced DBS check £53.50.
You are encouraged where possible, to register for the DBS update service. This is an annual registration fee of £16. By registering for the update service you will not have the additional cost of repeated disclosures.
Should you withdraw your application, you may be required to reimburse the cost of the DBS check.
