Applicants must have GDC registration as a Dental Nurse, at least two years post-qualification experience, and recent NHS dental nursing experience, with hands-on oral surgery exposure.

Qualifications

• Recent NHS dental nursing experience with hands-on oral surgery or extractions is required.
• Experience in a dental, oral surgery or maxillofacial setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support patient care pathways across the treatment journey.
• Prepare patients, clinical rooms, equipment and instruments for treatment.

Job description

Dental nursing post with 18 Week Support, an insourcing provider working with NHS Trusts, supporting surgical lists in Southampton as part of NHS waiting list initiatives. The work is chairside and clerical support for dentists and oral surgeons, including tooth extractions, with patient preparation and infection control at the centre. It is a 12-week fixed-term post, and weekday and weekend flexibility is desirable. Applicants need GDC registration, recent oral surgery experience and at least two years post-qualification experience.

Experience

Skills & knowledge

• Good knowledge of infection prevention and control and GDC standards
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
