Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Junior Sister / Charge Nurse for Paediatric A&E (Band 6) at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. The role is 33 hours per week with part-time hours, long days, nights, weekends and bank holidays, with flexible working arrangements.

The post requires significant paediatric A&E experience, NMC-registered nursing, and leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration and paediatric focus.
• Experience on paediatric wards/units, including A&E, essential.
• Qualifying degree or currently in progress; CPD evidence.
• Leadership or management training enhances suitability.
• APLS/APLS/EPLS/ATLS or equivalent paediatric emergency training.
• Significant paediatric A&E experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to paediatric patients.
• Adhere to NMC Code of Professional Conduct at all times.
• Lead nursing care in the absence of senior staff and supervise junior staff.
• Collaborate with MDT to meet patient and family needs.
• Assist with teaching, supervision and development of junior staff.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure patient safety and privacy.
