Job summary

Central Park Greyhound Stadium in Sittingbourne is seeking a proactive Paddock Steward to join our team. You will control and supervise licensed personnel within the paddock area and help maintain high welfare and cleanliness standards during race meetings.

You will support the racing office to ensure compliance with GBGB Rules of Racing and local regulations, communicate with paddock staff, trainers, and stewards, and help secure the kennel area.

Responsibilities

• Ensure cleaning schedules are completed and kennels/paddock areas remain clean and tidy
• Place integrity and welfare at the heart of all tasks
• Assist with kennel procedures in line with GBGB Rules of Racing
• Communicate effectively with the paddock team and racing office during race meetings
• Build strong working relationships with stewards, trainers, and kennel staff
• Scan microchips and check ear marks and racing jackets to verify greyhound identity
• Maintain strict security and control of the kennel area
• Support greyhound welfare and safety around the track during races

As a Paddock Steward, you will control and supervise the conduct of all licensed persons, including trainers, within the paddock area. You will help enforce the highest standards of greyhound welfare, maintain paddock cleanliness to the highest level, and support the smooth running of race meetings.

You will also assist the racing office to ensure full compliance with Greyhound Board of Great Britain (GBGB) Rules of Racing and local operational regulations.
