Job description

This senior specialist role is responsible for the management, development and optimisation of the Trust's Radiology digital systems, including PACS, RIS and associated imaging technologies. The post holder will ensure systems are safe, reliable, resilient and aligned to clinical and operational requirements.

Working closely with Radiology, Digital Services, clinical teams, suppliers and external partners, the successful candidate will provide specialist leadership and technical expertise across the imaging systems portfolio. Responsibilities include system administration, performance monitoring, user access management, data quality, information governance, cyber security, business continuity and supplier management.

The role will support system upgrades, integrations, service improvements and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring imaging systems effectively support patient care through timely access to images and reports and efficient clinical workflows.

The post holder will act as the Trust's subject matter expert for Radiology systems, providing advice and support to clinical and non-clinical users and helping to translate technical issues into practical solutions., The PACS & Radiology Systems Manager provides specialist leadership for the management, development and optimisation of the Trust's Radiology digital systems, including PACS, RIS, IEP and associated imaging technologies. The post holder is responsible for ensuring systems are safe, reliable, resilient and fit for purpose, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of Radiology systems, including performance, availability, configuration, user access, data quality, image availability and incident resolution. The post holder will provide specialist advice and technical guidance to clinical, administrative and digital teams, supporting effective workflows, system integration and the use of imaging data.

Working closely with Radiology, Digital Services, suppliers and external partners, the post holder will support service continuity, system upgrades, integrations, digital transformation and service improvement initiatives. They will contribute to business continuity, disaster recovery, information governance, audit compliance and risk management activities.

The role also includes developing user guidance, standard operating procedures and training materials, supporting staff development, line managing Radiology systems staff and overseeing supplier performance. The post holder will play a key role in ensuring Radiology digital systems continue to support safe, efficient and effective patient care.

This role is ideally suited to an experienced PACS, RIS, Radiology IT or clinical systems professional with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across clinical, operational, digital and supplier environments.
