Job summary

South57 Recruitment is hiring a machine operator for a food production site in Dunstable, packaging department. You will operate packing machinery, set up runs, monitor quality, and assist with cleaning and maintenance to keep lines running smoothly.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work as part of a team with flexible hours across the calendar week. Training in HACCP and IOSH may be provided.

Qualifications

• Mechanical mindset with a good eye for detail.
• Experience operating packaging machinery in a food production environment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene standards.
• Able to work as part of a team and individually; takes initiative.

Responsibilities

• Operate packing machinery to meet daily production targets.
• Set up machines at start of each run with correct materials and settings.
• Monitor output and adjust settings to maintain quality and minimize downtime.
• Carry out cleaning and basic maintenance and report faults to engineering.
