Qualifications

• Level 3 or higher qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Industrial Engineering.
• Hands-on problem-solving ability in fast-paced production or packaging environments.
• Knowledge of packaging machinery, automation, or product handling equipment.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate findings into practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration.
• Experience in contract packaging, FMCG manufacturing, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and implement engineering solutions to improve packaging processes, line performance and product quality.
• Support R&D and NPD (New Product Development) activities, including trials, prototyping and evaluation of new packaging formats or machinery.
• Work closely with production, commercial, and operations teams to deliver cost-effective and efficient packaging solutions.
• Assist with the integration, setup, and optimisation of packaging machinery and automation technologies.
• Lead engineering investigations, identify root causes, and deliver corrective and preventive actions.
• Provide technical support for customer projects, including blue-chip FMCG clients and leading retailers.
• Prepare engineering documentation: test reports, line set-up specifications, risk assessments, and technical drawings.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, OEE improvement).
• Evaluate new tools, materials, or technologies that could benefit Mailway or our clients.
• Ensure all engineering activities follow health, safety, and quality standards.
