Job summary

IPL - Part of the Asda Family is seeking a Machine Technician to drive performance of production line equipment and deliver high quality maintenance support in a fast-paced FMCG setting. You will monitor yield, optimise downtime, and ensure packaging quality aligns with ASDA specifications, working closely with Engineering, Line Leaders and operators.

The role requires practical mechanical skills, GCSEs in Maths and English, and strong IT and communication abilities.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English required.
• Strong analytical and IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and ability to liaise with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Drive performance of production line equipment to minimise direct labour cost and increase yield.
• Provide high quality engineering maintenance support for packaging to meet ASDA specifications.
• Lead autonomous maintenance and report run-rate issues affecting safety or productivity.
• Ensure all safety checks and food safety checks are completed.
• Coordinate changeovers with minimal downtime and drive continuous improvement.
