IPL, Forza & Kober in Sittingbourne, United Kingdom, is seeking a Machine Technician to drive performance of production line equipment and provide high quality maintenance support. The role focuses on minimising labour cost, increasing yield, and ensuring packaging meets ASDA specifications.

Key responsibilities include carrying out autonomous maintenance, completing safety checks, and ensuring smooth changeovers with minimal downtime.

Qualifications

• Institutional experience in FMCG/production environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and practical skills.
• GCSE Maths and English at least at grade C or equivalent.
• Good IT skills with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication across levels within a company.
• Ability to work quickly and methodically in a team.
• Proactive, results-driven with initiative.
• Flexibility to meet business needs and shifts.
• High attention to detail; process-driven.
• IOSH health and safety qualification desirable.
• Experience with similar machinery/equipment.
• Ability to challenge non-compliance to standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production line equipment to minimise labour costs and maximise yield.
• Ensure packaging safety and conformity to ASDA specifications.
• Follow SOPs in a clean, safe environment at all times.
• Complete daily machine safety checks and autonomous maintenance tasks.
• Communicate machine run status to Engineering Team and Line Leaders.
• Monitor yield and optimise value for IPL.
• Perform changeovers with minimal downtime and safe, accurate execution.
• Coordinate with Line Leaders to ensure timely machine setup for next job.
• Report run-rate or safety issues to Line Leader/Engineer promptly.
• Complete mandatory safety and food safety checks.
• Record check weights and calibration data per standards; report discrepancies.
