Job Description:

Reporting to the UK Head of Packaging, the successful candidate will take responsibility for the Packaging Development and Innovation Programme and Sustainable Packaging Strategy.

The Business: Our client is a vibrant, fast-growing manufacturer of premium snack foods, supplying most major retailers with branded and retailer own-label products.

The Role:

• Design the Packaging activity road map and lead the delivery of Innovation & NPD packaging plans.
• Ensure legal compliance for waste and accurate technical data for all new packaging materials.
• Champion the NPD stage & gate process for Packaging development, coordinating factory trials, creating specifications, and supporting product launches.
• Support artwork and packaging development, including palletisation guidelines and post-implementation reviews.
• Lead the Packaging Sustainability programme aligned with the Europe Snacks Group strategy.
• Attend trade shows and expert events to stay ahead of industry and environmental challenges.
• Translate environmental sustainability factors into actionable recommendations.
• Support performance optimisation of packaging materials and technology post-launch by managing supplier partnerships.
• Conduct technical risk assessments for packaging changes and provide guidance to mitigate risks.
• Provide packaging expertise to Production & Engineering teams for troubleshooting and efficiency improvements.

The Ideal Candidate:

Enthusiastic, initiative-driven, well-organised, with at least 2-3 years’ experience in FMCG packaging management (preferably Food or Beverage).

Expertise in packaging materials, machinability, technologies, printing, and distribution is essential.
