Job summary

SIEMENS ENERGY LIMITED in Lincoln, UK, seeks a Cell Manager for its Packaging unit to lead a manufacturing team, drive production plans and implement continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and support functions to resolve technical challenges and maintain safety, quality and cost targets.

The role requires proven leadership in manufacturing, familiarity with lean methods and a focus on safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role.
  • Experience in a precision engineering environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is advantageous.
  • Degree or vocational qualification in Manufacturing or Engineering preferred.

  • Supervise and lead a team of manufacturing professionals to drive operational success.
  • Plan, direct, and monitor daily production activities to meet schedules and cost objectives.
  • Optimize resource allocation to enhance workflow and production efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and a culture of accountability.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching and development opportunities.
  • Uphold quality control standards and ensure product specifications are met.
  • Lead Kaizen and Lean initiatives to boost productivity and reduce waste.
  • Analyze production data, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
  • Champion a safety-first culture and ensure EHS compliance and audits.
  • Maintain accurate records for production, quality and safety per regulations.

As the Cell Manager within our Packaging unit in Lincoln, UK, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless production operations and maintaining high-performance standards. You will lead a dedicated team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a collaborative environment where innovation and efficiency thrive. Your day-to-day activities will involve overseeing production activities, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.   • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.
  • Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records for production, quality, and safety in line with internal and external regulations.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership or supervisory role, preferably in a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong team management skills with a focus on developing and motivating team members.
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • A degree or vocational qualification (HNC/HND) in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
