Sir Robert McAlpine has secured a prestigious contract to construct a state-of-the-art Battery Manufacturing Facility. The initial phase includes designing and building a 15GWh lithium-ion battery plant, ancillary structures, and external works.

This Package Manager role oversees concrete work packages as part of our £800m project.

The Package Manager - Concrete Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will manage trade-contractor packages within the infrastructure and substructure team, leading engineers and subcontractors to deliver projects safely and to high standards.

We seek someone who:

• Takes ownership of their package, ensuring all work is planned, safe, and the site remains clean and organized.
• Promotes safety leadership with a 'boots on the ground' approach.
• Plans and oversees logistical requirements, liaising with the Works Manager and Logistics Contractor.
• Produces short-term programmes and phase plans to accelerate work or mitigate issues to meet deadlines.
• Monitors progress, analyzes performance metrics, and reports implications to the Project Manager.
• Collaborates with the infrastructure team and considers the 'big picture'.
• Ensures technical compliance with contract documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Reviews and approves Inspection and Test Plans.
• Conducts quality inspections using FieldView.
• Manages technical submittals and RFIs within their scope.
• Ensures scope and sub-contract requirements are met, understanding SRMs obligations.
• Records key events and activities.
• Promotes the SRM Build Sure culture.

Your Profile

• Strong leadership skills
• Experience managing multi-million-pound building projects
• Experience with structural steelwork and façade packages on high-profile projects
• Managed subcontractors for steel fabrication and façade installation
• Led progress meetings and provided detailed reports
• Procured materials, negotiated with suppliers
• Worked with design and engineering teams on technical challenges
• Ensured safety compliance during site activities
• Experience with NEC contracts and handling Early Warning Notices and Compensation Events
• Good knowledge of building products, construction details, rules, and standards
• Familiarity with construction software such as FieldView, 4P, Dalux, and Asta is desirable
