Job summary

Balfour Beatty Power T&D seeks a P&C Design Engineer in Leeds to engineer control and protection designs for electrical substations. You will develop design content, liaise with project managers and customers, and prepare installation and commissioning packages.

The role requires knowledge of HV protection, single-line diagrams, and QA processes, with responsibility for ensuring designs meet standards and project timelines.

Qualifications

• Liaising with customers and suppliers.
• Overall design and specification of electrical power systems and components.
• Calculations to demonstrate integrity of designs.
• Microsoft Office packages usage.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design content and resources to achieve project time scales.
• Coordinate with project manager, customer and suppliers on contract requirements.
• Prepare installation and commissioning packages and test specifications.
• Identify standards, customer requirements and compliance in design work.
• Attend design review and contract close-out meetings and ensure timely actions.
