Job summary

Waltham Forest secondary school is seeking an Oxbridge Graduate Academic Mentor to support pupils across KS3-KS5. From ASAP, the role offers real responsibility, mentoring and the chance to influence progress and university aspirations.

You will deliver small-group and 1:1 interventions in your specialist subject, assist teachers, and help students prepare for GCSEs, A-Levels and university applications, including personal statements.

Qualifications

• 2:1 or First-Class degree from Oxford or Cambridge.
• Strong GCSE and A-Level results.
• Passion for education and social mobility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to become a teacher in the future.
• Ability to motivate and support students of all abilities.
• Commitment to the full academic year.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in KS3–KS5 across subjects.
• Deliver small-group and 1:1 academic interventions.
• Assist teachers during lessons across KS3–KS5.
• Support GCSE and A Level intervention sessions.
• Help stretch high-achieving pupils and support those working below target.
• Build pupils' confidence, motivation and independent learning skills.
• Assist sixth form students with university preparation and personal statements.
