Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Mechanical / Mechatronics Design Engineer to own the design process from concept to production for agricultural machinery in Knutsford. The role covers mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems with hands-on CAD modeling and prototyping.

The position is permanent with hours Mon–Fri 8:00am–5:15pm. Salary is dependant on experience, reflecting the level of responsibility and impact on field-ready equipment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience in machinery, mechanical or mechatronic system design.
• Strong SolidWorks 3D CAD.
• Experience integrating mechanical systems with electrical components, sensors, actuators and controls.
• Good understanding of tolerances and manufacturing processes.
• Experience designing machined components and fabrications.
• Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Previous agricultural machinery experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop agricultural machinery from initial concept through to commercial production.
• Produce detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop practical mechanical solutions, including machined components and fabrications, designed for demanding field conditions.
• Support the integration of hydraulic and electrical systems, including actuators, motors, sensors and control technologies.
• Support prototyping, testing, validation and ongoing product development.
