Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to drive bespoke machinery projects from concept through to manufacture, blending mechanical design, fabrication, automation, and robotics.

You will join a growing engineering team to create 3D models, develop detailed drawings in SolidWorks, and ensure designs are practical, cost-effective and manufacturable across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will:

• Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Design bespoke machinery and equipment from concept through to production.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturable.
• Develop sheet metal, fabrication, and mechanical assemblies.
• Support the integration of automation and robotic systems into machinery designs.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Take ownership of projects and contribute to continuous product development and innovation.

Requirements

• Strong SolidWorks and 3D CAD experience.
• Previous experience designing machinery, special purpose equipment, or capital equipment.
• Good understanding of fabrication, welding, and sheet metal design.
• A practical, hands-on engineering mindset with strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to take designs from initial concept through to manufacture.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a growing engineering team.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within agricultural machinery, mobile equipment, or a similar machinery manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of automation, robotics, or automated machinery systems.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, or electro-mechanical systems.
