Job summary

Independent Living Solutions Ltd. Basildon is seeking two permanent Support Workers for night shifts and occasional day coverage to support a young adult client with cerebral palsy at home. Roles require empathy, reliability, and ability to work with specialist equipment and a dedicated care team.

Overnight hours vary with some shifts needing hourly checks and others allowing longer rest periods. Drivers with access to a client wheelchair-adapted vehicle are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
• Satisfactory references, including from your most recent employer
• Enhanced DBS check (A conviction Will not necessarily prevent employment)
• Gender restrictions as per client requirement (female or male worker) for this client

Responsibilities

• Meet all personal care needs of the client and encourage participation
• Provide domestic assistance to promote a healthy, clean and safe environment
• Administration of medication
• Awareness of emotional, behavioural and communication difficulties due to the client’s condition
• Effective communication with warmth, patience and compassion within a care team
