Abbots Care in the United Kingdom seeks a Night Complex Care Assistant to support a gentleman with a C3 spinal cord injury at his home in Buntingford. The role runs 8pm–8am on a 12-hour night shift, including alternate weekends, with CCTV in place and two large dogs on site.

You will provide personal, catheter and bowel care, along with other complex care tasks. Full specialist training and ongoing clinical support are provided by Abbots Care.

Qualifications

• Experience in care, with complex care or spinal injury experience desirable.
• Calm and confident, especially overnight.
• Reliability and consistency are crucial on this package.
• Observant and able to recognise changes or concerns.
• Emotionally mature, respectful and non-judgemental.
• Able to work independently with escalation for support when needed.
• Clear communicator for effective handovers to day team.
• Driver with car is essential due to client’s location.

Responsabilités

• Provide waking night care from 20:00 to 08:00.
• Support with personal care, catheter and bowel care.
• Be observant and proactive in recognizing when support is required.
• Follow client care plan and protocols with preparation and training provided.
• Undertake relating to safety, emergencies and contacts as per in-house guidelines.
• Work within a small, consistent team in the client’s home and communicate with the day team.
