Job summary

FAASS is seeking a Family Support Worker for waking nights to maintain a safe, nurturing environment for families. You will support parents, record progress for assessment, and work in partnership with Social Services and the Family Court to ensure accurate observations.

Your role focuses on safeguarding children, providing practical help, and communicating effectively with families and professionals in a busy residential centre.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a care setting with children or supportive environment.
• Commitment to safeguarding and protecting children and young people.
• Strong written communication including spelling and grammar.
• Basic IT skills to maintain records in-house systems.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, supportive environment during waking hours and overnight shifts.
• Observe family interactions and record progress for specialist assessment.
• Provide guidance, reassurance and practical support to parents.
• Collaborate with Social Services and the Family Court as required.
