Job summary

Rockhopper Children's Services is seeking compassionate Bank Waking Night Care Workers to support children and young people in Dovedale House during the night. You will supervise, assist with routines and provide a stable, caring presence to children aged 9–17 with SEND, ASC, ADHD and SEMH needs.

The role offers flexible bank hours, opportunities for progression, funded training and wellbeing support. DBS checks are required for safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with complex needs and/or mental health needs.
• A caring, empathetic and child-centred approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Resilience, patience and a positive attitude.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of young people.
• Flexibility to work waking night shifts, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide overnight supervision and support within a safe, nurturing home environment.
• Support children and young people with evening, nighttime and morning routines.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people.
• Promote emotional wellbeing and respond to needs during the night.
• Carry out health, safety and security checks throughout the home.
• Complete accurate records and handovers.
• Help maintain a clean, welcoming and organised environment.
• Work as part of a team to provide consistent, child-centred care.
• Support children to develop confidence, independence and life skills.
